Warren Miller


Delegate District 9A Howard County MD Delegate Warren Miller has served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates since March 2003. Currently a member of the Economic Matters Committee, Warren also serves on the Property & Casualty Insurance Subcommittee, the Banking, Economic Development, Science & Technology Subcommittee, the Deathcare Industry Workgroup, and the Public Utilities Workgroup. Warren is also the Vice Chair of the Republican Policy Committee. In addition, Warren is a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council, the Maryland House of Delegates Veterans Caucus, the Maryland Federation of Republican Assemblies, and the Southern Legislative Conference.

Warren is a life-long Howard County resident. During his childhood, Warren was a Boy Scout in Troop 882 (Popular Springs) and was active in Howard County 4-H. During the summers he worked extensively at the Howard County Fair supporting the Poultry Exhibit. Warren attended Lisbon Elementary School and Glenwood Middle School. After graduating from Glenelg High School, Warren attended Howard Community College and Towson State University, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1987. While in college, Warren became politically active as a member of the Towson University College Republicans.

Warren has worked extensively in Republican political campaigns, most notably as the Campaign Manager for Congressman Roscoe Bartlett’s successful reelection in 1994. He also worked on the campaigns of President George H. W. Bush in 1988 & 1992, Governor George Allen in 1994, Senator Robert Dole in 1988 & 1996, and numerous Howard County GOP candidates from 1998 to the present, including Governor Robert Ehrlich and Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele. Active in county politics, Warren was elected twice to the Howard County Republican Central Committee (1998 and 2002) and was Vice Chair before accepting the Delegate Appointment. He served as a member of the Howard County Redistricting Commission in 2001.

Professionally, Warren has worked as a Political Appointee in two Administrations. During Ronald Reagan’s Presidency, Warren worked in the Office of Presidential Personnel. During the term of President George H. W. Bush, Warren served in the Office of Presidential Personnel, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the Office of Personnel Management. Warren was employed as a Technology Consultant at Booz, Allen, and Hamilton for nine years before accepting his current position at United Capital Mortgage in Columbia.

Warren resides on a small farm in Woodbine with his wife Jane and two children, Laura and Clayton.
